HOODZY

With roots laying deep in New Zealand to reaching her birth place of the west coast of Australia, Hoodzy flows through like the sea breeze between the two countries. The 19yo MC boasts the skills and passion of a veteran with the young girls steez energy.

At just 16, Hoodzy launched triple j’s new online series, Bars of Steel – showcasing her charm and confidence despite her little experience in the booth. From there, she performed her first ever gigs to sold out shows opening for Triple One, played her first festival at Perth’s Listen Out 2019, warmed up the stages for Horrorshow, Jesswar and Genesis Owusu, and featured on songs by Miiesha and Kobie Dee.

Throughout 2021, Hoodzy spent most of her time growing as a person and growing as an artist. While the world experienced some of the strangest times, Hoodzy chose to absorb that strangeness and channel it through words, melodies and rhythms; preparing to unleash it all in the year we find ourselves now. The times are real, but yet so has been the evolution of Hoodzy.

To put it simple and plain, Hoodzy best describes herself as “19, female, gay, brown skin & chasing the same dream even if the odds are already against me. I’ll never be ashamed of who I am. The world is mine. If you’re rocking with me, all love is for y’all”

NARDEAN

Born and bred in Sydney’s west to an Egyptian family, Nardean began her musical exploration at the age of 22. After a few short years of exploring her voice, she has cemented herself as a force to be reckoned with.

Nardean effortlessly traverses rap, singing and poetry in a genre she describes as “post-hop;” influenced by hip hop, while also drawing on elements of neo-soul, electronica, glitch and RnB.

After releasing her debut record “Creatress” in 2019 to a resounding round of industry applause, she has recently released her second EP ‘THE NEW ERA’, with support from Campbelltown Art Centre and CreateNSW.

SRIRACHI

Sass, humour and cheek: Srirachi is destined to shake up Australia’s music scene. Her crazy energy and addictive personality is key to her fiery ambitions, reckless attitude and spitting about painful truths. With her unpredictable yet relatable attitude, it’s no wonder she’s already gained a viral following on Tik Tok.

As first gen Vietnamese-Australian, her meaningful lyrics provide her perspective and experiences in a man’s world. Srirachi’s first single ‘Sayonara’ is an aggressive debut depicting the harsh reality that asian women face daily; “Am I your fetish, small and petite? Submissive, dismissive fantasy retreat? Yellow fever, you can suck on my teat!”

Having been selected for the 2022 Acclaim All Stars amongst local heavyweights: Babyface Mal, 1300 and Mason Dane, Srirachi’s momentum is snowballing. Srirachi is in high demand having been on line ups for Brunswick Music Festival, Parramatta Lanes Festival, Mardi Gras Empire 2022, and opening for amazing artists such as Kye and Tasman Keith.

A mainstay in the Melbourne hip hop scene, her unique combination of hilarity, honesty and brazen confidence, makes her a force to be reckoned with. Adding to an already jam-packed year, keep an eye out for Srirachi performing at Sound West Conference and her debut mixtape, ‘Srirachi Safari: Welcome to the Jungle Baby’ dropping at the end of the year.
